Today I decided to go for a few short walks around the Jarrahdale area. I researched these walks a while ago and go back every now and then to have a look around. The first walk is Blue Rock Walk which is a large Granite outcrop, the trail itself is an easy 1.5km loop, the carpark is just off Jarrahdale Road you cannot miss the rock as you drive past, I wandered around for a while took some pictures and went to the next walk.
My next stop is just a few hundred metres from Blue Rock, The Wetlands Walk is an easy 1.8 km walk around what they used to call Webbs Lease this used to be a farming property and there were 2 households in this area, no longer here, the walk itself takes you around the area of Webbs lease there is walkways, viewing platforms with seating on the way where you can just relax and enjoy the nature around you, there is a mud map available for the area to download and take with you I got it a while ago, I can’t quite remember where I got it from, it was a nice little walk with plenty of wildlife around, there is a picnic table under an oak tree as you walk into the trail I stopped there for a quick bite to eat and a drink before going on the trail.
After my walk around the wetlands, I headed off towards the Jarrahdale town centre opposite the cemetery there is a couple of walk trails that start there Kittys Gorge walk trail which is a quite hard 18km return or 9km 1 way finishing at Serpentines falls along Gooralong Brook and Stacey's Loop which is a moderate 1.9km return loop down to the brook over bridges and along the brook. I have planned another trip here to do Kitty’s gorge next week. I am planning to do the return trip but will need a day to do so it takes around 6 – 7 hours to complete the trail.
