Marks Offroad Adventures and Daytrips

 Today the wife and I decided to go for a drive up to the old Meckering Townsite before the 1968 Earthquake that had destroyed the town, My wife had recently done a similiar trip with my daughter with some mystery shopping. Originally the plan was to got to Kellerberrin and back home, but we didn't end up going that far I think we got about 15km out of Kellerberrin and turned around taking a different route home. We headed of towards Meckering passing the Meckering Fault line and stopping at Meckering so we had a look at the old townsite now only the foundations remain in the old townsite and a short trail with signs telling you where everything was. The townsite now has been rebuilt in the same area and a lot bigger than it was in 1968.   As we left Meckering and headed towards Kellerberrin we stopped at Tammin for lunch at the roadhouse, we had our lunch and made our way towords Kellerberrin.      My daughter wanted to spend her birthday down south with a couple of friends so we did an overnight stay down in Margaret River, we headed of in the morning doing our usual stops for lunch on the way, I didn’t get many photos at all this trip it was more what my daughter wanted to do, but we did stop off at Canal rocks, and then we headed to the accommodation for the night, in the morning we left towards home making a stop for the kids to have a  round of minigolf, after that it was just the trip home stopping at our regular stops when we go down south, Cheese Factory, Chocolate Factory, and a Yoghurt Factory.  Today The wife and I and a couple of the girls went on a drive through Jarrahdale, Nth Dandalup, and Marrinup POW Camp, first time visiting Marrinup POW Camp, It was a funny day today weatherwise it was Sunny, then Raining and Sunny again on and off for most of the day, anyway our first stop was at the Jarrahdale POW Camp I regularly go for a drive here to have a look around its dissappointing to see how much the place has deteriorated since my first visit here in the Early 2000's I think it was around 2004 when I found it online while researching for some places to take photos and go for a hike, there will be updates of this area in future posts, I spend a bit of time exploring the Jarrahdale Bush on my days off.
