Daytrip to Williams, Boddington and Pinjarra

 Today the Wife and I decided to go for a drive down to Williams, Western Australia  for a daytrip have some lunch and have a look around. We headed off around 10am going straight down Albany highway to Williams we were trying to find somewhere for lunch on the way down but ended up eating in Williams, as we were driving down Albany Highway I noticed and old farm house and shed down the road so I stopped for a few snaps.






  I got back in the car hoping to find more old Farmhouses like this but never came across any more. We arrived in Williams and drove around trying find something for lunch after getting linch we parked down by the river had lunch and I got out for a walk around to take a few snaps





We left Williams and started heading towards home we came across the Pinjarra-Wiliams road and decided to go that way taking us through Boddington, Dwellingup, Pinjarra then to  southwest highway for the trip home. Came accross what appears to be a swimming area in the river in Boddington the name of the place slips my mind, (I will add it if I remember what it was called) we stopped to have a look there was some picnic tables and if I remember right some wood Barbecues, here is a couple snaps of the Swimming Area.




That was the last stop for the day we did stop at  Dwellingup to purchase a drink and the restrooms, then headed home via Pinjarra and South West Highway

Jarrahdale - Out and about

A couple of months ago me and a couple of our daughters went for a drive through the sites of Jarrahdale, Western Australia. I hadn't been up that way for a few years except a recent hike along the Kitty's Gorge walk trail with one of my daughters , our plan was to visit Blue rock Walktrail, the Wetlands Trail and also the old WW2 POW camp ruins. Sadly they have deteriorated over the last few years and the tracks are dug up by trail bikes and 4WD  vehicles and have not been maintained. What is left of the Wetlands Walk Trail We first visited the POW Camp and then the Wetlands trail and then the Blue Rock Walk Trail, both the Blue Rock and the Wetlands rails are no longer worth visiting as they have gone to waste and the Carpark at the Blue Rock Trail have been blocked off by rocks so there is not really anywhere to park now. The WWII POW Camp is still accessible via Balmoral road but is a little overgrown and under maintained but we manage to have a little walk around

Back in Jarrahdale

Hi all,           Well it has been a while since I posted here been slacking off again. todays trip was more of a test drive through the tracks of Jarrahdale. I just recently purchased my first true 4WD and just had to take it for spin off road, only light stuff to start with although we did go on a few rough tracks as we were exploring around, it was basically the same trip as the last one we did to Jarrahdale in my previous post, this time we didn't have to walk much of it, Our first stop was the Jarrahdale POW camp where we stopped for lunch and had a quick walk around. Someone's make shift Camp site, there is suppose to be no camping here The POW information centre what is left of the Main quarter The powerhouse I think it was The Wash House After leaving the POW camp and exploring a few of the tracks not really finding much else, we headed towards Blue Rock and the Wetlands Trail, we only went for a quick drive through the track at the wetl

Nth Dandalup Dam to Jarrahdale

HI all,      I had and early finish at work one day last week, I knew the day before that is was going to be an early one so the night before I studied the maps and looked for an alternate route home, and decided to take a detour to Nth Dandalup Dam and follow Scarp rd. exploring a few tracks on the way, Scarp road is mainly a good gravel road (although some parts of it are a sealed) through some of the darling scarp ending in Jarrahdale. As far as I know it goes as far south as Sth Dandalup maybe even further.    I had finished work by 9am so it gave me most of the day to explore, I had charged the cameras up, fuelled up the car, packed extra food and drink, I don’t have any recovery gear yet and fairly new to Four Wheel Driving, so I am still on a massive learning curve,   just sticking to the easy tracks for a while    I left work and headed towards Nth Dandalup Dam, the first track I took was slightly uphill and was quite rough, a gravel Road/Track it was rocky and there was
